How Echo Ridge Puppies are Raised
Puppies thrive most when they are exposed to a variety of people, locations, animals, and sounds from a young age. Positive introductions from a young age give them the confidence to grow into well-rounded adults. We follow the Puppy Culture and Avi Dog methods to introduce various stimuli at the appropriate time in their mental development. In addition, the puppies are raised in our home, with our family, and hear a variety of everyday noises, including the hustle and bustle of living with young children. When our puppies go home (at 12 weeks of age) we work hard to make sure that they have already been exposed to the following:
~Crate Training- (meals, car rides, and napping)
-Litter Training (which expedites the house-training process and promotes cleanliness)
-Car Rides (and car washes)
- Various animals (livestock, adult dogs, parrots, and cats)
- Various people
- Sounds (dogs barking, parrots, kids' toys, tractor, music, etc)
- Flooring (grass, wood, rug, tile, and vinyl)
- Grooming (weekly nail trims and brushing, at 4 weeks they begin having baths and are blow dried)
- Training with treats
- Exploring different locations inside and outside
- Playing in tunnels, wobble board (mini-see saw), ball pit, water bottles, and other things that move and make noise.
